Alterac Valley (AV) is a battleground in WoW Classic where the Horde and the Alliance clash in a large-scale battle to reduce the opposing faction's reinforcements to zero or kill their General. Objectives and How to Gain Reputation The primary objective in Alterac Valley is to defeat the enemy General, but there are also several secondary objectives that can help reduce the enemy's reinforcements and earn bonus honor. These include killing the enemy Captain, burning towers/bunkers, capturing graveyards and mines, freeing Wing Commanders, and collecting supplies for turn-in quests. Reputation can be gained through various activities:
Completing Alterac Valley quests
Participating in repeatable quests by turning in reagents at Dun Baldar
Killing enemies, including the opposing faction's General and Captain
Controlling objectives such as graveyards and mines
Earning Marks of Honor
Completing the Stormpike Insignia questline
Faction Rewards Alterac Valley offers faction-specific rewards that can be acquired by spending honor. Though some items may have different names and appearances for the Frostwolf and Stormpike factions, their bonuses and effects are generally identical. Most rewards require level 55 or 60. Rewards can include decent blue items, food, ammunition, and potions at higher reputation. With the latest update to WoW Classic, players can also earn new reputation rewards.
Experience In Alterac Valley, experience is awarded for completing objectives. Experience gains are a percentage of the total experience needed to level.
Destroying a tower or bunker awards roughly 0.91% of a level.
Defeating Galvangar or Balinda awards roughly 0.91% of a level.
Winning the match awards roughly 1.21% of a level.
Players are awarded an extra 0.60% for every remaining tower or bunker their team still has when the match is over, regardless of win or loss.
Successfully rescuing a Wing Commander awards 0.30% of a level.

Tower Defense: Defend 50 towers in Alterac Valley.
Loyal Defender: Kill 50 enemy players in the Hall of the Stormpike (Alliance).

The Alterac Blitz: Win Alterac Valley in 6 minutes.
The Sickly Gazelle: Kill an enemy in the Field of Strife before they dismount.

Alterac Valley All-Star: In a single Alterac Valley battle, assault a graveyard, defend a graveyard, assault a tower, defend a tower, and slay someone in the Field of Strife.
Frostwolf Howler/Stormpike Battle Charger: Obtain a faction-specific mount.
Hero of the Frostwolf Clan/Hero of the Stormpike Guard: Gain exalted reputation with the respective faction.
